Memphis Shades

Postby bigkillerdog1 » January 21st, 2009, 8:57 pm

I have a Memphis Shades shield, and taking it to be serviced last month noticed one of the mounting brackets was broken (one mounted to the bike). I have had it on the bike aprrox. 2 years. After several emails to discuss the problem I received an email today asking for my address so they could send replacement brackets. Seems they really do back their product. Will post again when I receive the brackets.

This is a common problem with Memphis. I'm guessing the crack is right where the bracket does a 90 degree bend from facing forward to where it goes behind the headlight. I've had two of them replaced for the same thing.

That is exactly where it broke. Would it strengthen the bracket to have a weld run down the inside of the bend?

Me too, and while it's "nice" that they respond so quickly and with no questions asked...IMO they'd do better just to figure out the problem and FIX IT once and for all!!!

Recived the replacement brackets yesterday, and installed today. Was able to get out for first rider after 15,000 miles service. It was so nice to finally rider, it had been over a month since I last had the biker out.
