Fixed that for ya Wade.

You accidentally placed the word "not" in from of seven years old when you meant to say they were seven years old.

Problem solved.

Original Poster.... Did you buy new tires yet? What did you get? I like the metzelers personally. YMMV.

A+ in math, eh?

Seriously though, I'm guessing that should have said "now seven years...", and yes they probably aren't in good shape.

OK, what am I missing here, are you saying they're not seven years old? 2009-2002=7.

Nope, you did...

This reply is from Joe Zinn. The person that asked the original tire question. I did not ever say my tires were not seven years old. I'm surprised this site could post a reply in my name that I didn't make.

Just ordered my second set of Metzler ME880 WWW's from here.

https://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/part ... -only.html

They sell the set for Vol/C50's for a great price. I paid $266 shipped.

I'm of the 'buy em cheap and use 'em up' camp. Found a deal on some tires at traxms.com for some off brand tires...

http://traxms.com/Motorcycle_Products_Tires_Street_Kenda_K673.html

I've bought 3 sets of these so far, only tires other than the standard IRC's that came on it. They're a medium sticky tire, wear very well and do pretty well in water etc. I've only put 2 sets on my Vol, one set went onto my son's V-star (just so happens they use the exact same tires front and rear) and I got over 2 years worth out of the last set. I got them in 24hrs for $150 delivered to my door. That was for BOTH front and rear delivered folks, in 24 hrs, to my door. I ride very aggressively and eat rubber all the way to the edge of the tire and these never once let me down. I've gotten 2 friends of mine that ride Vol's to try 'em and both are likin 'em too.
