Best mods I've made so far

Postby Rob » May 17th, 2013, 8:30 pm

Not cheap by any means, but well worth it...

In January I decided it was time to swap my Maryland tags for North Carolina tags. Had to pay nearly $400 one time "road use fee" for both Vol and Harley but best money I ever spent!

NC is pretty awesome, glad I finally moved down here!

What was the benefit? Or the tags looked better?

Ron, you've obviously not traveled the US. Let me give you a visual comparison.

Lmao. Wow. When I heard Maryland I thought of shrimp and docks and colorful forests. I didn't think of pile-driving like that :D

Beautiful pic of the western part of NC, Doc, which is my favorite destination, but the coast is fun, too:

Beautiful! Didn't think that NC was that scenic... Hows the weather though? Any snow?

The mountains get most of the snow, and parts of them can get quite a bit. Down here we get just a few ice storms, frozen stuff that shuts everything down (they don't salt the roads here), knocks power out, etc. Not too many of them though. Just about every winter spell here is brief and followed by a nice mild day or two, good enough to get out and ride.

The best mod I got for myself was a motorcycle safety mod that I refreshed myself on the motorcycle safety course. I can't stress enough how important it is
to refresh yourself every 4 years or so. It's just like when you rewatch a movie for the first time after a couple years. It's almost like new material again.

The best mod I did for my bike so far... is these http://www.vikingbags.com/suzuki-boulev ... 7-prd1.htm saddlebags.
I'm able to fit my jacket and chaps into them and still comfortably ride. I don't need to bother with taking my stuff into the store where I'm shopping and get paranoid that someone might think i'm shop lifting.

Just made an even better mod, transferred my NC plate from the 2009 Ultra to a 2014 Ultra. Not the limited and just black and chrome, but she'll do :)
