Fletch's brother

Postby mightydog » April 25th, 2011, 2:25 pm

I really should check my phone more often. Rick asked me to post this here as he was on his way to the hospital to see Rob. (yes, he'll get a fussin' at for posting it on VR first! , but he's pretty upset/worried, so i'll let it go for now.)

"My brother missed a curve and flew about 60 feet landing in the woods.
Ribs probably broken, possible spinal injuries also, probably internal injuries.
Bike totaled for sure, please say a prayer for him.
"

Here's hoping for the best!

Rick will post an update when he can, or I will if I hear more.

I just got back from the hospital. Rob has been transfered to another hospital for more tests. He is stable and talking but is in a lot of pain. He may have some broken ribs and a broken shoulder, but right now they know he has a bruised kidney and some bleeding on his brain. That is what they will be concentrating on for the next few hours. He was wearing a helmet and did not have any visible head injuries, so all we can do right now is pray and hope for some good news. They are checking other areas for possible internal bleeding. He was trying to navigate a curve when it all happened, He doesn't recall anything but from the condition of the bike it appears that it flipped end over end and threw Rob off in the process. Rick was riding in front of him at about 35 mph but did not see it happen. Just keep praying and we will post news as we get it.

Thanks for that update, Eddie. Just heard from Rick again saying about the same thing. Transferring him to Our Lady of the something or other in BR. Rick said they know someone in charge of emergency there, so hopefully he'll see a doc a little quicker than he did at the first hosp, then get him some treatment and pain meds.

Hang in there, Rob!

Very sorry to hear this. He is in my thoughts.
If you p**** us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?

Just plugged him in to our worldwide prayer network, and put it on the Facebook Volusia page too.

Well damn. Wishing him the best. Being in BR, he could have a Tiger and a Green Wave doctoring him. That's good chances.
