Newbie needing advice!

Postby Speciala106 » April 7th, 2011, 10:16 am

Hi all from the Virgina Beach area. I'm brand new to motorcycles and the volusia/boulevards really caught my eye. I've only ridden the brc trainer bike and I'm looking at a couple prospects.

Two bikes I'm currently looking at are a 2006 C50t for 4000 in blue silver, and also a 04 volusia limited for 3200 in a beautiful dark grey. Both have less than 5000 miles on them.

I like the price and love the looks a lot better on the 04 but the 06 has a lot of accesxories and the paint job is good to me but not great.

03 Volusia
Cobra Streetrod Slashdown Exhaust (minus top tip), jet kit, light bar, highway bar, Switchblade 2-up

If you wanna know where the lower shore is, just head to the end of the earth and hang a left, 2 blocks over and your there :)

If I had the choice, I'd go with the VOL.. no freaking fuel injection along with all the other computer related crap to mess with.

It's like women. We can give you all the advice you want on what to ride, but the final decision is up to you!

04- carberated
06 Fuel injection

Both have positives and negitives.
the 06 is the new technology, but both bikes are solid models and you won't go wrong with either.

I would go with the 2004 Volusia because the 2006 C50 does not have a fuel guage, it may have wiring problems that the owner did not have the recall done, and carb is a lot easier to diagnose and repair. As far as looks....don't they look exactly alike? the differences are not visible from the outside.

Wow thanks for all the quick replies, my brain is telling me to go with the 06 because of the accessories but my gut is telling me to go with the 04 because of lower miles and better looks. Grr and to the poster who found new for around 4k,are you sure that was the 800cc models? Ive seen 250s for cheap but never a bigger bike
