2nd man drop off
The way that most clubs I have ridden with over the years is 2nd man drop off.
The lead rider & the last rider should remain the same throughout the entirety of the ride. Every time you reach a junction where the ride changes direction or at any point that confusion could arise over the direction that the ride is taking the 2nd from front rider drops off and stays there until the last man catches him up. With this formula being applied to the ride it doesn’t matter if there are riders that are faster or more experienced than others as no one can get lost. Huge distances can be covered like this at high speed if wanted without losing the slow guys.
Simple but affective.
