Spring finally got to Indiana...at 40mph

Postby Da-Mack » March 7th, 2012, 8:10 pm

Holy s***! I got up this morning and it was 54 degrees. I had to take the bike to work today...no doubt about it. 30-40 mph winds from the south with gusts up to 50mph and of course I'm going west and east. I found that if you are careful and can get behind a semi (in the draft zone) it kind of pulls you along and helps break the cross winds. Just be super-dooper careful as you have to get pretty close. I stress to only do this on open highway in rural areas where there are no intersections or stopping.

Too many things can go wrong tail-gating a Semi IMHO. Ever see a trailer tire blow, or a piece of shredded tire fly up, or a cage cut off a semi, or poorly adjusted trailer brakes lock up? Just sayin. :o
