Actually those crabs are caught along most of the east coast. Up north they are a by-catch of the lobster industry and not a targeted species. As stated before they have a large crusher claw which is broken off by the fisherman and then the crab is thrown back in to regrow the claw. Excellent eating with lemon butter.

When I was in college I had a pipe I called Stone Crab ....i suppose thats something different
