Ride for Stone Crabs

Postby ecks » March 15th, 2011, 7:52 pm

Gonna ride to Marco Island and Goodland Saturday 3/19 for some fresh stone crab. Anybody want to join me and my woman? Rapid transit?

I'll hijack my own thread. If you're drunk it may look like me and my woman want some crabs.

The claws of stone crabs are harvested and the crab returned to the water where they regenerate another claw. It is a self sustaining industry. They are very sweet tasting and only in season for a few moths a year. I believe they are a south Florida thing.

I heard all you have to do is pour kerosene on the area infested and use an ice pick to kill those creatures as they leave because they don't like kerosene.
