Hi all Aussies (and others). Since this is my first post, thought I'd show a little community spirit.
Every year since 2002 (i think) there have been annual Pink Ribbon rides all around Australia to generate awareness for breast cancer, show support and raise funds for treatment and to help find a cure.
The events vary in size from sate to state, but generally get great support from the local bike communities.
last year in melbourne was no exception, although it almost didn't get held.
the new organising committee had 3 weeks from a standing start to organise evertyhing froma venue to entertainment, routes, food, fundrasing - you name. They succeeded (just) and still got 250 riders.
Bikers in OZ are a generous lot; I can go on for hours about what we've all done in the last 2 months in fundraising for Bushfire Survivors for hours......
Well it looks like the ink is almost dry on this years event. It promises to be huge (can I say 4 times the size?)
Looks like the date will be the Sunday after the Melbourne Bike GP (Phillip Island) late October. Calender anyone?
